Dinner With Joss Whedon
Dark Horse have just sent out a publicity leaflet about an eBay auction for dinner with Joss Whedon. Its not a candle light one, I’m afraid, but a chance to win a seat at his table during ComiCon this year. The auction will run from July 2nd to July 12th and there are additional rarities like a signed copy of the upcoming Serenity hardcover.

Review: The Pinball Theory of Apocalypse
Anyhow, I really had fun reading this book. I was reading an advanced copy. The book won’t be on sale until August of this year, so you have to wait just a little while before you can get a hold of one for yourself. The fun doesn’t end when you get through the last page, however, because it turns out there are two websites connected to this book. One showcases some of Isabel’s paintings, and the other gives further details on her father’s work “The Pinball Theory of Apocalypse”. I just love it when books have cool websites that go with them!

Trendy Google Trends
Deep within the Google search engine, not commonly used by the average searcher, there is tool that has taken the internet domain/click-farmers to orgasmic heights of revelry. What is this fantabulous tool of the googlified (can I copyright that term?) generation? It is, of course, the Google Trend Analysis.

Fossil Rim Wildlife Center Video
Due to an issue with our host, I am not able to add videos within our Photo Gallery software. So I did the next best thing by adding the videos from our recent Fossil Rim Wildlife Center trip to YouTube.

Finding An iPod FM Transmitter
The manufacturer Belkin has something called the Belkin TuneCast Mobile FM Transmitter, which plugs into the headphone jack that’s on your iPod. It needs to AAA batteries to work and is supposed to have a range of roughly 30 feet. The product retails for roughly $29.99, however you can often get it for much less online. However, the average of all Amazon .com users reviews for this device was roughly about two stars.

Selling Display Ads On Another Site
Via its Adsense program Google has, of course, long placed graphical and video advertisements on third-party sites, but according to Red Herring this deal is unique and separate from the Adsense offering. Glam Media, which reaches over 21 million unique visitors world wide and is among comScore’s top 100 websites in the US, gives Google “a precedent to point to when they go beyond” this deal and start selling display ad services to other publishers, said Todd Greenwald, a senior analyst at Nollenberger Capital Partners in San Francisco to Red Herring.

Changes In Communications
Through MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger or any of the many other instant messaging software out there, family and friends can now live and work hundreds of miles away from each other and still be as close as their keyboard to their loved ones. Not only can they stay in touch through text but also now, with a video web camera, they can see and speak each other in “real time” These same tools can also help productivity in companies with offices half way around the globe of each other with the use of video conferencing, e-mail and Instant Messages.

Lipstick
I’ve been looking for the perfect red lipstick for AGES. Most red lipstick looks too garish against my skin tone, or makes my teeth look yellow and disgusting. This one didn’t. As it turns out, I already owned it. It was in my big box of new makeup that I keep in reserve, just in case. If you’re not a girl (or hell, a drag queen), you don’t know the sheer joy of finding the PERFECT SHADE. In case you’re wondering, it’s Maybelline Forever Lipcolor in Flame, #150. It is discontinued, but I did find a single new tube on Ebay.
